    Getting out and about

Things have been busy here, as you can see from the photos. We managed to catch a great game of footie at the new Shrewsbury stadium, we used Andrews work tickets so we sat in nice seats and got to use the members bar so it was really good and comfortable. I took the Nikon to see what photos I could get but the kit lens did not get close enough to the action, however I did get some good shots of the crowd! There was a problem trying to get both the sky and the ground exposed right as it was a really sunny evening (right up til end of play and the clouds came in). A great day out by all.

leaving the pitch before the rain hits!

The day after we went to a BBQ at Ben and Em's, it had been a while since we had seen them and it was good to catch up with them and Dan and Joeley. Ems bump is looking very "bumpy" and its not long now until the first second generation scooby is born. I was thinking about this the other day and its weird to think that my mum and dad had their own Scooby gang, and that I grew up with their kids...and its like a new iteration of that. Weird.

The weekend after that BBQ there was a surprise BBQ at Bens folks house for Ems birthday. I think the surprise was kinda ruined by a few of us getting there before the chief guest and she could 1) see our car in the drive 2) see my bloke getting the BBQ ready in the garden as they drove past! Doh! Still it was a good night and everyone had a good time, and we managed to regress - the boys played croquet on the lawn and then everyone had a go at Joeleys hula hoop!

During the week the girls have been catching up either by seeing Mamma Mia (great fun and REALLY cheesy) or going swimming at Shrewsbury Swimming Baths (someone PLEASE keep those changing rooms clean, they were kinda gross when we went and smelt "off"). Are next outing is going to be Birmingham and then going to see Wild Child so will let you know what that is like to see. The cinema has been getting some money out of us recently, Andy and I have been to see Batman (ace and very dark) and Wall-e which was BRILL and we are planning to see Get Smart (flash back to my childhood of avidly watching the original) and Hellboy 2 during our week off.

What else? well we have been assisting(ish) Dan and Joeley in their house preparations and we went to the Shrewsbury Flower Show this weekend just gone and then took D & J to the airport so that they could go on holiday. Ben and Em are picking them up next weekend. We stopped off at Cheshire Oaks on the way back but it was a bit disappointing and a lot of what was nice was still very expensive - the era of  75/ 80% off seems to be gone. Oh well.
